TLA Payments & Refunds

Teacher Learning Academy Payment Policy

From September there will be three ways to pay online through our website or over the telephone:

Credit / Debit Card

We are pleased to provide an online facility that securely connects to HSBC, one of the largest banks in the world, and facilitates secure processing of credit card transactions online. Alternatively you can telephone us and we will process the transaction on your behalf. Please be aware due to data protection and credit card fraud prevention requirements, we are only able to process a transaction over the telephone whilst you remain on the telephone in person. We are unable to process this transaction on your behalf in your absence. Your credit card details are not stored on our systems. They are entered by our administrators directly in to a secure connection with HSBC, identical to the online facility.

Invoice

Invoices may either be requested through the website at the point of order or over the telephone. Invoices must be paid by cheque or BACS. These are payable within 30 days or 5 days prior to the date of delivery of product or service or course, whichever is earlier. Cheques should be made payable to Mott MacDonald Limited.

TLA Account

You will be able to charge to this account once you have paid money in to it by one of the other two methods. It works by allowing you to make a deposit in to the account, by invoice or credit card. The balance is ring-fenced in your account which may only be accessed by authorised individuals in your organisation. When wishing to order a product or service, such as enrolment at stage 1 for a teacher, you can see the balance of your account online or telephone us, and as long as there are sufficient funds, charge the purchase to this account online or by telephone.

The advantage of using the TLA Account is that it allows you, once your budget is set, to protect this money and determine that is it solely used for the participants in the TLA. Another advantage is it instantly viewable online through your community account.

We can arrange payment of services that you provide, such as verifications and moderations in to this account. In addition we can arrange payment of the Support Partner aspect of the enrolment fee in to this account.

If you are interested in using this facility, please access it online by logging into the TLA Community and visiting the “My Organisations” – “Account activity” link and click the “Add funds to account” link alternatively you may telephone us on 0330 123 9121.

We do not accept:

  • postal order
  • Eurocheques
  • cash in any currency
  • VAT on Goods Sold by us

VAT stands for value added tax, which is charged on goods sold by Mott MacDonald Limited within England. In accordance with the laws governing companies in England, Mott MacDonald Limited is obliged to charge VAT on all orders delivered to and in England.

The amounts displayed for products or services sold by Mott MacDonald Limited are exclusive of UK VAT. You will be able to see your final price inclusive of applicable VAT before you confirm your order, when you have completed your order information (including your delivery address).

 

TLA Enrolment Refund Policy

There will be a ‘cooling off’ period of 28 days following the confirmation of enrolment in which you/the participant can withdraw. If you/the participant withdraw(s), a refund of the total enrolment fee minus administration costs, which will be 50% of the logistics fee, will be provided.

If you/the participant have accessed support from the Teacher Learning Academy online, the support part of the fee shall not be refunded.

Withdrawal Process within 28 days of confirmation of enrolment

If you wish to withdraw from enrolling in the Teacher Learning Academy please send an email to: enquiries@teacherlearningacademy.org.uk

Please title the email Withdrawal from Enrolment. Please provide, in the body of the email your:

  • TRN or NI number
  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Reason and preferably
  • any unique reference number, such as order number, that has been provided to you.

If you paid then we will refund you directly in the same manner as you paid.

If someone other than you paid, such as your school or support partner, we will notify them of your request to withdraw and inform them that a refund will be issued to their TLA account.

This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Withdrawal Process beyond 28 days of confirmation of enrolment

If you wish to withdraw from enrolling in the Teacher Learning Academy please send an email to: enquiries@teacherlearningacademy.org.uk

Please title the email Withdrawal from Enrolment. Please provide, in the body of the email your:

  • TRN or NI number
  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Reason and preferably
  • any unique reference number, such as order number, that has been provided to you.

In such circumstances there will be a refund only in exceptional cases and consideration will be given to refunding the support component of the fee only where there is a default on the part of the ‘provider’ be they a support partner, TLA school or centre, or where personal circumstances disallowed participation.

This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights.

Refund of Verification part of the Enrolment Fee

Neither the support or verification part of the fee will be refunded to any paying partner be they individual or school since there is no circumstance, including when the individual fails to complete, in which the participant will have not have had access to a support service or could have benefited from the verification service, either through the TLA online, their school or their support partner.

In the circumstances in which a teacher enrols and the fee is paid by a nominated support partner who is accredited to verify and the teacher then does not present within the time limit or any given extension of time or confirms they will not present within a given extension of time, the support partner must return the verification part of the fee to the Teacher Learning Academy in support of the furtherance and development of the Teacher Learning Academy.

 

TLA Training Refund Policy: TLA Affiliated School

Cancellation

Please send notification in writing, by email to: enquiries@teacherlearningacademy.org.uk

Please title the email Cancellation of Attendance of Training Event. Please provide, in the body of the email your:

  • TRN or NI number
  • Full Name
  • Date of Birth
  • Reason and preferably
  • any unique reference number, such as order number, that has been provided to you.

If the cancellation is received 4 weeks (or 20 working days) or less prior to the start of the training programme, or at any stage during the training programme, the nominee will still be charged and an additional charge may be required before any participants can be added to another event. Due to the requirement to have one trained TLA Leader in order to become a TLA Affiliated School cancellation may impact or delay your ability to become affiliated.

If you paid then we will refund you directly in the same manner as you paid.

If someone other than you paid, such as your school or support partner, we will notify them of your request to withdraw and inform them that a refund will be issued unless they nominate another individual.

This refund policy does not affect your statutory rights.
