"For teachers the TLA is self-driven and not forced in any way… you can see there is a real impact on the individual, and on the school community too, especially the pupils." Richard Balukiewicz, Head Teacher, Blurton High School
"Personally, I feel that often there just isn’t the time to stop and reflect on what we are achieving and any new ideas we have. The TLA fills that vital gap, encouraging us to
think more deeply." Cynthia Francis, Deputy Head Teacher, Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise
"From our perspective, the benefits are simple: the recognition you get. ….. it’s why we’re encouraging more and more staff, especially NQTs and other staff below the Threshold, to get involved with the TLA." Tracey Hemming, Deputy Head Teacher, Knights Templar School
"For my own TLA project, I used two contrasting teaching styles and asked pupils to give me feedback…Within our faculty, now students have a voice on the style of teaching, so the school is developing much more of a learning partnership." Lynn Jones, Assistant Head, Blurton High School
"I’ve really enjoyed being involved in the Teacher Learning Academy. It didn’t feel like admin or training: instead, it’s practical and you can continue to develop your skills and approach." Deborah Young, NQT, Charles Burrell High School
